Von TIM, Mitglied im amerikanischen Silverwing Forum, erhielt ich diesen Erfahrungsbericht über die HiT Kupplung in seiner Honda Silverwing 600.
I am very happy with the performance of
the HiT Clutch. I have been using the new generation (V4) HiT Clutch
for about 10000 miles now and find that it is far superior to the early
version and certainly an improvement over the Honda factory clutch.
There is less clutch slipping with the HiT Clutch and because the clutch
shoes (wear pads) lock firmly to the clutch bell once higher rpms are
reached there is better response to throttle operation and ultimately
lower operating rpms. Not that you would notice much of a difference
though, as at higher rpms the HiT Clutch operates the way a standard
clutch should operate.
Oddly, there is mention of a "New 'Mr One'
centrifugal clutch design from King Zone Corp" which "locks the clutch
more rigidly once engaged" in the January 2011 (No.295) issue of the
UK's "Scootering" magazine in an article covering the Eicma 2010
Motorcycle Show in Milan, Italy. No doubt this 'Mr One' clutch is
designed for Vespa's and not for Silverwings though. But it does speak
to the fact that Dr Pulley's HiT Clutch is a successful design and
serves a need in addressing the inefficiencies centrifugal clutches.
So it looks as if Dr Pulley has been on to a good thing for awhile now.
And it's great that they've worked out many of kinks of the early
design. It's nice too to see that the price of the HiT Clutch kit has
come down from the price that I paid for my original (prototype) version
several years ago.
